Bingo AI is designed to connect older adults with flexible, accessible work opportunities, empowering them to maintain independence, improve mental and physical well-being, and secure supplemental income.

By addressing the unique challenges older adults face, Bingo AI aims to create a welcoming job platform that aligns with the needs of a growing aging population.

How can we help older adults stay in their homes longer while maintaining their independence in a safer, healthier, and more cost-effective way?

SOLUTION

Our solution included implementing a user-friendly, voice-supported onboarding process, simple application steps, and accessible job matching tailored to older adults’ needs.

RESEARCH & INSIGHTS

BRAINSTORMING

Our research for Bingo AI was based on a mix of government data, industry reports, and insights gathered from blog sites focused on aging and employment trends.

We aimed to understand the job market and specific needs of older adults seeking flexible work. Additionally, we conducted phone interviews with a few individuals in our target demographic to gather firsthand insights.

These conversations helped validate our ideas, highlighting concerns like the need for simplified applications and user-friendly onboarding, which influenced our decision to implement voice interaction and visual aids.

COMPETITOR ANALYSIS

Bingo stands between short to mid-term jobs. Letting seniors have the option to have a retirement lifestyle without the pressure of working a full-time job. Where jobs come to the users.

While most competitors focus on short-term or general job placements, Bingo AI fills a unique gap by targeting older adults seeking flexible, part-time roles. Our platform emphasizes simplicity and accessibility, distinguishing us from more complex or generic job platforms.

Research says over 15 million older adults aged 65+ are economically insecure. They also stated that 30% of workers over 65 say they have nothing saved in a retirement plan in the US

MENTAL HEALTH

The prevalence of subjective cognitive decline (SCD) among adults aged 65 years and older is 
more than 11%

MISSING SOCIAL CONNECTION

A study found that 43% of older adults reported feeling lonely. Older adults not having a lack of social connection have been lined to declines in physical health.

Emma, a 67-year-old with basic to intermediate technology skills, seeks flexible work opportunities. While she has some familiarity with using smartphones and computers, she finds complex applications intimidating. Her motivation is a mix of financial need and the desire to stay active, making her an ideal user for a platform that offers a simple, accessible interface. Emma’s goals include supplementing her income on a part-time basis, connecting with others through meaningful work, and maintaining a sense of independence.

MENTAL HEALTH

Getting bored with basic everyday routine, she wants to have some activities to socialize. 
Living off of retirement funds makes her worried about her future financial situation.

TECHNICAL CHALLENGE

CHALLENGE

Developing a voice and visual onboarding process for older adults presented unique technical challenges, especially as we needed to ensure compatibility with various devices and accessibility standards.

Integrating voice recognition required accurate speech processing that could handle diverse accents and speech patterns among older users.

APPROACH

To address this, we would incorporated a reliable voice API and designed a user interface with large, easy-to-read text and intuitive navigation.

We would need to  tested across multiple devices to ensure a seamless experience for all users, prioritizing accessibility and ease of use.

BUSINESS CHALLENGE

CHALLENGE

Bingo AI aimed to connect older adults with part-time and contract roles, tapping into a growing demographic seeking flexible work opportunities. Our business challenge was to make the platform attractive for companies offering these roles while planning for growth in line with an aging population.

As more people live longer and healthier lives, the demand for such opportunities is expected to rise, creating a sustained market for part-time labor.

APPROACH

Our approach was to create a scalable, appealing platform for partner companies while addressing the growing need for flexible work options among an aging population.

The goal was to create sustainable revenue streams while aligning with the mission of empowering older adults.

DESIGN SOLUTION

STRESS FREE ONBOARDING

We designed a user friendly UI and audio voice UI and a voice transcription for users that are hard at hearing.

Selected colors we choosen with enough contrast for user usability and large text to ease our users that are vision impair. There is an option for seniors who have impaired hearing or arthritis. They can have what’s on the screen read to them and respond with voice transcription by a click 
of a button.

NO FILL OUT FOR OPENING JOB APPLICATIONS

With our AI algorithm, the list of skills that is displayed on our users profiles updates each time after completing their job and reviewed by their employer. Propping the users profile for better matching jobs for future jobs and never needing the user to update their profile. The user will be able to view their skills and profile rating.

IMPACT

PHYSICAL & MENTAL HEALTH

Working proactive seniors are healthier. A study shows that people who worked past age 65 were about 3x times more likely to report being healthy and less likely to have serious physical health problems, such as cancer or heart disease.

Older adults with frequent social contact have 70% less cognitive decline than those with lower social activities. Having seniors work is great for their mental health.

REVENUE GROWTH

Helps to fill open positions, and could help achieve revenue growth by hiring these older adults. A study estimates that a 5% engagement increase would lead to about a 3% revenue growth for companies.

PRODUCTIVE DRIVE

Working seniors are better employees. A study shows employees aged 55+ are more engaged to their jobs than the younger employees.

NO WAITING TIME

It has a potential to help more than 50 million seniors in the US.

NEXT STEPS / LEARNINGS

We plan to refine the voice interaction further, adding personalized job suggestions based on user feedback and past applications.

Additionally, we aim to integrate wellness check-ins, helping users stay motivated and connected with the platform.

WORK FROM ANYWHERE

There might be some seniors that may not be able to to leave their home. Potentially we may want to add some Mechanical Turk options for seniors to work from home.

EXPANDING TO LARGE CORPORATIONS

We may consider expanding from small business to large corporations. Giving more options for seniors to find work.
